Vacancy – Engineering Technician Apprentice

Luxinar Ltd has an excellent opportunity for a Level 3 Engineering Technician Apprenticeship.

What you’ll be doing …

As a Level 3 Apprentice, you will benefit from a comprehensive training and development programme.

You will be trained to machine components from specialist materials using conventional and/or CNC machine tools. You will be trained to produce, prove and/or edit CNC programmes. You will be expected to be able set up, operate and adjust/edit equipment settings as done to the highest standards expected of a world-class high-technology company. 

Amongst the many talents you’ll develop, you will be expected to apply quality standards, interpret drawings, use hand tools, show initiative, manage priorities and your own time. You will become proficient in:

  • CNC milling & turning
  • Setting and operating CNC machines
  • Using Fusion 360 – CADCAM software
  • Programming CNC machines
  • Working to company procedures
  • Understanding engineering manufacturing drawings
  • Understanding cutting data for different materials
  • Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques developed in a culture of Continuous Improvement

What about you? Do you have …

  • Three GCSEs at grade 9 to 4 (C or higher) including Mathematics, English and Science
  • Enthusiasm for and interest in engineering
  • Flexible attitude and ability to work under pressure as a strong team player
  • Demonstrable ability to work accurately with high precision
  • Ability to follow instruction and work to schedule
  • Commitment to continued learning and development
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Problem solving/Attention to detail and pro-active approach
  • Commitment to safety
